The permanent ice storage ensures that, even with an unstable power supply or in case of dropping out of the cooling unit(s), the milk can be cooled and there is no risk of heating the milk. The ice storage is mainly built on the advantageous night rate, the balance during the day.
On top of this, practice proves that ice water cooling is the fastest way to cool the milk. Thanks to the availability of ice water and the use of Packo tubular cooler(s), the milk can be instantly cooled to 4°C before entering the tank. This allows the milk to keep its high quality.
